Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Hidayah stores the following data locally on your device using encrypted storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to sync:

Prayer tracking history and streaks
Quran reading progress and bookmarks
Hadith favorites and notes
Tasbih counter data
App preferences and settings

Optional Cloud Sync (Firebase)

If you choose to create an account, the following data may be synced to Firebase (Google Cloud) for backup purposes:

Reading progress and bookmarks
Prayer tracking data
App settings

Data We Do NOT Collect

Personal identification information (name, email, phone) — unless you create an account
Location data — Qibla and mosque features use device sensors only
Browsing history or activity outside the app
Contact lists or social media data
Financial or payment information

How We Use Your Information

We use locally stored data solely to:

Provide app functionality (prayer tracking, reading progress, etc.)
Remember your preferences and settings
Show personalized content (daily recommendations based on your reading)

Advertising

Hidayah does not display any advertisements. We do not use any ad networks, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs. We believe your spiritual journey should be free from commercial interruption.

Third-Party Services

Hidayah uses the following third-party services:

Firebase Authentication — for optional account creation and login
Firebase Firestore — for optional cloud backup of your data

These services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Security

We use encrypted storage (MMKV with encryption) to protect your data on-device. Cloud data is protected by Firebase's security rules and encryption in transit and at rest.

Children's Privacy

Hidayah does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app can be used by children under parental supervision without creating an account.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Delete your local data by clearing app data or uninstalling
Delete your cloud account and all synced data
Use the app without creating an account
Request information about what data we store

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
