Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Hidayah mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
Description of Service
Hidayah is a free Islamic companion application that provides access to the Holy Quran, Hadith collections, prayer times, duas (supplications), the 99 Names of Allah, a digital tasbih counter, Qibla direction finder, mosque locator, and prayer guides. The App is provided free of charge with no advertisements.
Islamic Content Disclaimer
Important: While we strive for accuracy in all Islamic content presented in the App:
- Quranic text is sourced from verified Uthmani script databases and reviewed for accuracy
- Hadith are presented with their grading (Sahih, Hasan, Da'if) from authenticated sources
- Duas are sourced from Hisn al-Muslim and other authenticated compilations
- Prayer times are calculated using established astronomical methods but may vary from local mosque timings
- The App follows mainstream Sunni Islamic scholarship
The App is not a substitute for consulting with qualified Islamic scholars. For matters of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), please consult your local imam or a qualified scholar.
User Responsibilities
By using the App, you agree to:
- Use the App for lawful purposes only
- Treat the Islamic content with respect and reverence
- Not modify, reverse-engineer, or decompile the App
- Not use the App to distribute misleading Islamic content
- Not reproduce or redistribute the App's content without permission
Intellectual Property
The App's design, code, and original content are the intellectual property of Hidayah. Quranic text and Hadith are part of the Islamic heritage and are freely available. Translations and commentaries are attributed to their respective authors and used under applicable licenses.
Availability and Updates
We strive to keep the App available and up-to-date but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue the App at any time. Most features work offline, so your access to downloaded content is not affected by internet availability.
Limitation of Liability
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the App, including but not limited to:
- Inaccuracies in prayer time calculations
- Qibla direction variations due to device sensor limitations
- Data loss from device malfunction
- Any reliance on the App's content for religious practice
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable local laws. Any disputes arising from the use of the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes through the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
